DEAD BROKE announce today that their new album ‘When The Night Comes In‘ will be available worldwide September 22nd – PRE-ORDER HERE!

Today’s annoucnement comes tastefully paired with a new single and accompanying music video for ‘Not There Yet‘, WATCH/LISTEN HERE. The video was directed by Brittany Farhat (July Talk: Love Lives Here) and follows the band’s first release in three years last month with ‘Not Yours To Take‘, watch/listen here.

The upcoming album, ‘When The Night Comes In’, has had no shortage of ultra-talented and accomplished professionals working together to bring it to fruition, being produced by Alex Bonenfant (July Talk, Broken Social Scene, METZ, The Weeknd), engineered by Calvin Hartwick (OBGMs, Daniel Caesar, Wintersleep) and Nadia Dostovalova, mixed by Milan Sarkadi, mastered by Reuben Cohen (Metallica, Pharrell Williams, Slumdog Millionaire, Bruno Mars) and recorded at Dream House Studios in Toronto, Canada (Born Ruffians, Jessie Reyez, Tokyo Police Club). A testament to the band’s evolution, the forthcoming full-length will follow their self-titled LP, and recent EPs ‘Nice Words’ and ‘Druids’.

On the upcoming album, Michael Bright commented, excitedly, that it “feels like a metric ton being lifted off my shoulders now that the world can finally tune in to what we’ve been working away at. It’s by far the best thing we’ve done to date. We are finally arriving at a sonic identity that we’ve been striving towards for some time. It has been such a journey, but to have this set of songs that I can comfortably share with just about anybody has brought me to a new confidence level in songwriting.”

Rachel Bright added that “the production of this record spans pre to post global pandemic and it feels surreal to finally release it. When The Night Comes In is a new benchmark for the band – new songs to flaunt!”

Last month, the band made a triumphant return to the scene with their first release in three years – ‘Not Yours To Take‘. Taken from the album, the single hits hard from start to finish with an evidently grunge-inspired vocal approach and keeps you on the hook all the way through. The distinct, echoing guitars are met with incendiary drum hooks, amplifying every moment and while the grunge and punk influences are clear out of the gate, the song wastes no time showcasing the band’s myriad of musical influences.

MORE ABOUT DEAD BROKE:
Dead Broke is the graduated punk rock band you’ve been looking for. Led by sibling duo Michael & Rachel Bright and backed by Evan Saunders and Zack Carlan, their sound is a fun, frenzied, infectious mix of punk and desert rock.

Dead Broke have shared stages with the likes of The Bronx, Black Lips, Single Mothers, The Dirty Nil, to name a few, and left their mark on well-known Canadian festivals like CMW, Pouzza, NXNE, and more. That’s not to say they haven’t spent time in the trenches though. No stage is beneath this band and their relentless DIY touring history is a testament to just that. Having endlessly traversed North America in a Chevy Van, playing everywhere from midwest squats and rainy English towns to the big bright stages of Los Angeles and New York, Dead Broke is as happy to play in your living room as they would be to play to a crowd of 20,000.

With industry stripes dating back to their inception in 2010, the band couldn’t be more thrilled to be gearing up to release their latest record ‘When the Night Comes In’ this year. 2023 is the year of new beginnings for many and while Michael and Rachel have known each other their whole lives, this newfound collaborative dynamic has taken not only their sound, but their sibling bond to new heights. From the days of rocking out together in their parent’s basement to travelling across North America looking out for each other – this is just the beginning.
