Sublime’s Reunion Sparks Hope for New Music

Following the recent reunion of Sublime’s original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, alongside late frontman Bradley Nowell’s son, Jakob, the iconic SoCal band is gearing up for a series of upcoming performances. Excitingly, there are hints of potential new music in the works.

In a recent interview with SPIN, Gaugh and Nowell were asked about their plans post-Coachella performance, and Gaugh hinted at the possibility of new music. “We’ll see how it goes from the rehearsals, but I’m pretty certain we’re gonna see some music coming out with this project,” he revealed.

While Nowell didn’t specifically address recording plans, he expressed enthusiasm for Sublime’s upcoming shows and a desire to contribute to the band’s legacy. Looking forward, he mentioned a hope to explore alternative scenes and collaborate with cool alternative artists.

As the band prepares for their Coachella appearance, Nowell floated an entertaining idea involving another major reunion headliner, No Doubt. He expressed hopes of convincing Gwen Stefani to join them on stage to perform her 1994 duet with Sublime, ‘Saw Red.’ Gaugh seemed equally excited, stating, “I mean, come on. It seems like a no-brainer.”

The reunion of Sublime first took place in December at a benefit for Bad Brains’ H.R. Now, the band is set to perform at Coachella and the inaugural Brightside Music Festival. Fans can secure their tickets for these highly anticipated events. The prospect of new music adds an extra layer of excitement, marking a potential resurgence for the beloved SoCal group.
