Green Day Dominates the U.K. Albums Chart

In the latest U.K. albums chart rankings, Green Day secures two spots, a rare achievement for the legendary pop-punk band. Their highest-ranking album this week is Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band, which leaps from No. 60 to an impressive No. 29. This compilation album has previously peaked at No. 22 and continues to be a favourite, now marking its 268th week on the chart, equivalent to over five years of consistent presence.

Alongside the success of their greatest hits, American Idiot, one of Green Day’s most iconic albums, re-emerges on the chart at No. 77. This marks the album’s return to the U.K. chart after more than half a decade. The last time American Idiot appeared was in 2018, when it held the No. 93 spot. Notably, this is the album’s highest position since October 2014, nearly a decade ago. American Idiot, a former No. 1 album, has now spent a total of 126 weeks on the U.K. albums chart.
