Kiss is Still Hitting New Highs on the Billboard Charts Following Their Retirement

Kiss officially called it a day at the end of 2023, much to the dismay of their devoted fan base. The legendary rock band has stepped away from touring and creating new music, but that doesn’t mean their passionate following has stopped consuming their work in massive numbers. This week, one of the group’s most beloved tunes soars again on a Billboard chart, reaching a new peak.

“I Was Made for Loving You” jumps up the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart this frame, leaping from No. 9 to No. 3 on Billboard’s list of the bestselling tracks in the country that can be classified as hard rock in style and sound.

New Heights for “I Was Made for Loving You”

No. 3 now stands as the highest position yet for “I Was Made for Loving You.” The track has only spent half a dozen weeks on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list, with several of those weeks being in the past month or so as the tune enjoys a significant resurgence. The song’s renewed popularity has been driven by its recent feature in the movie The Fall Guy. Although the film might not have been a major commercial success, it was impactful enough to remind viewers how much they love Kiss’ iconic hit.

The Yungblud Effect

For The Fall Guy, alternative rocker Yungblud covered “I Was Made for Loving You.” His version has also found success, becoming a minor hit on some of Billboard’s genre-specific charts. This frame, Yungblud’s rendition of “I Was Made for Loving You” reappears on the Alternative Digital Song Sales ranking at No. 8. Previously, it had peaked at No. 6, showcasing the enduring appeal of the track across different music styles and audiences.

Kiss’ Chart Performance Over the Years

“I Was Made for Loving You” now stands as Kiss’ second-highest charting song on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. This frame, the tune came very close to tying as their top performer in the history of the tally, missing out on the top spot by just one position. Kiss’ “Hell or Hallelujah” reached No. 2 on the same chart in 2012, marking their highest achievement on the list to date.

The band has enjoyed several other wins on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. “Beth” climbed to No. 6 in 2016, while “Rock and Roll All Nite” made its mark at No. 17 in 2012, staying on the roster for three weeks.

Conclusion

Kiss may have retired from the music scene, but their legacy continues to thrive. The recent resurgence of “I Was Made for Loving You” on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, bolstered by its inclusion in The Fall Guy and Yungblud’s successful cover, demonstrates the timeless appeal of Kiss’ music. Fans old and new continue to celebrate the band’s contributions to rock and roll, ensuring that Kiss’ hits remain relevant and beloved in the ever-evolving music landscape.
