Volbeat Announces Ninth Album “God of Angels Trust” and Global Tour

Danish rock giants Volbeat have officially announced the release of their ninth studio album, God of Angels Trust, set to hit shelves on June 6, 2025, via Vertigo/Universal. Alongside this major announcement, the band has debuted a new single, “By a Monster’s Hand,” with an accompanying music video that showcases their signature heavy sound and high-energy performance.

Once again, Volbeat has collaborated with renowned producer Jacob Hansen, whose production has been a staple of the band’s sound for years. The new track is a testament to their dedication to delivering punchy, powerful rock music, and it hints at what fans can expect from the full album.

A New Approach to Songwriting

Frontman Michael Poulsen shared insights into the writing and recording process for God of Angels Trust. Unlike previous albums, where he meticulously structured each song over an extended period, Poulsen approached this record with a fresh perspective: “In the past, I’ve taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them. This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. Instead of following any kind of structure, I said, ‘Okay, there are no rules. I can do anything I want.’ That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album.”

He added, “In some ways, it feels like we’ve come full circle. After everything—medical operations, lineup changes, and more—it feels like a rebirth. It doesn’t feel like we’re releasing our ninth studio album; it feels like we’re starting all over again. And that feeling is incredibly refreshing.”

Tracklist for God of Angels Trust

The album consists of ten dynamic tracks, including an unusually titled and visually evocative song, “In the Barn of the Goat Giving Birth to Satan’s Spawn in a Dying World of Doom.”
