Travis Barker Confirms Collaboration on Yellowcard’s New Album

Travis Barker Reveals Work on Yellowcard’s Upcoming Album
Travis Barker, the legendary Blink-182 drummer, has given fans an exciting update regarding his latest musical collaboration. While offering a tour of his studio in a recent interview with Reverb, Barker shared insights into his equipment and some of the latest projects he has worked on.
During the tour, Barker introduced his favorite drum kit, the stainless steel DW, which he has used extensively on various albums. “This is my main kit. I’ve tried all different variations; nothing beats this stainless steel DW. It’s ridiculous,” he said. Among the notable records he has recorded with this kit are Blink-182’s One More Time… album and Machine Gun Kelly’s Lonely Road. However, the biggest surprise came when he casually revealed, “I just did the entire new Yellowcard album on this.”
The news marks a significant moment for Yellowcard, whose last album was their 2016 self-titled project. That album reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart before the band went on hiatus. While official details of their new album remain under wraps, frontman Ryan Key has hinted at something monumental in the works.
In a recent interview with Wall of Sound, Key mentioned that the band is currently in a “very secretive stage of making new music,” and while they haven’t formally announced the project, they are “close [to] something happening.” He also emphasized that the upcoming release is more than just another album. “I just mean that the news around it; how it was made, who we made it with—it’s surreal. I’m pinching myself every day, since April of last year when we started working on it. We’ve really poured ourselves into this thing.”
While fans eagerly await further details on Yellowcard’s new era, Barker remains busy with Blink-182. The iconic band has a packed festival schedule in 2025, with appearances at major events such as Sea.Hear.Now on September 14, Shaky Knees on September 21, Aftershock on October 2, and When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas on October 18 and 19.
Stay tuned for more updates on Yellowcard’s return and Barker’s ongoing projects as the pop-punk revival continues to gain momentum.
