The Moonshine Cafe Lives On!!

The Moonshine Cafe is Moving on but not going away!

The Moonshine Cafe, a beloved live music venue in Oakville, Ontario, is embarking on an exciting new chapter in its storied history. After nearly two decades at 137 Kerr Street, the iconic establishment is set to move to a new location just up the road at 568 Kerr Street in early 2025.

This move comes after the passing of the original owner, but thanks to the overwhelming support from the community and music lovers, the Moonshine Cafe’s legacy will continue. The new location, situated in the Oakville Commons mall at the northwest corner of Speers and Kerr, promises to maintain the cozy atmosphere and high-quality live performances that patrons have come to expect over the past 18 years.

Mike Whartoner, a long-time supporter of the Moonshine Cafe, will take over management, ensuring that the venue’s spirit and commitment to showcasing local, regional, and international talent remain intact. The transition has been met with enthusiasm from musicians and patrons alike, with many expressing relief that this cultural cornerstone will continue to thrive in its new home.

While the original location closed its doors in early 2025, the team behind the Moonshine Cafe is working diligently to prepare the new space. They encourage fans to stay updated on the progress through their website and social media channels.

The Moonshine Cafe’s move represents not just a change of address, but a testament to the enduring power of live music and community support in keeping beloved cultural institutions alive, even in the face of significant challenges.
