Red Cain Unleashes New Single “FWAB” (Fire, Water, Air, Blood) Ahead of Hyperspace Metal Fest

Red Cain Drops Ritualistic New Single “FWAB” (Fire, Water, Air, Blood)

Montreal, QC – April 9, 2025
Canadian progressive metal storytellers Red Cain have released their latest single, “FWAB” (Fire, Water, Air, Blood)—a dramatic and powerful track that fuses heavy instrumentation with a mythic narrative steeped in Slavic lore. The single arrives just one day before their live performance at the Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, BC, where the band is set to perform on opening night.

“FWAB” delivers a dynamic and immersive listening experience, driven by chugging downtuned guitars, layered atmospheric synths, and explosive harmonized choruses. The song’s defining feature—a visceral balalaika breakdown—pays homage to the band’s Eastern European roots, adding cultural texture to its sonic weight.

According to Red Cain, “FWAB” tells the story of a long-forgotten Slavic deity who once thrived on human malice and pride. This ancient god, associated with suffering and dark ambition, fell into slumber when modern humanity’s ills no longer sustained him. Now, he stirs again, summoning the primal elements—Fire, Water, Air, and Blood—to reclaim his power. The track is framed as a ritual call to awaken Chernobog, the “Black God,” and challenges the listener with a provocative question: What would you sacrifice to change your fate?

The band, known for their conceptual storytelling and genre-blending sound, has been building a devoted following since their debut in 2016. With previous albums like Kindred: Act I, Kindred: Act II, and the critically acclaimed Näe’bliss—a metal adaptation of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series—Red Cain continues to push the boundaries of modern metal.

Red Cain’s current lineup includes:

  • Evgeniy Zayarny – Vocals

  • Samuel Ridout – Guitar

  • Oman Costa – Guitar

  • Taylor Gibson – Drums
