Queens of the Stone Age disappointed fans in Edmonton, Canada, on Tuesday, April 3, as they were forced to cancel their highly anticipated show at the last minute.
In a Facebook announcement posted around 8:30 p.m. local time, the band expressed their regret, citing illness as the reason for the cancellation. Scheduled to take the stage at 8:45 p.m., the band conveyed their sincere apologies to fans, stating, “We are not able to give you the show you deserved or the show we wanted to give you.”
Ticket holders were assured that they would be contacted by their point of purchase with further details regarding refunds or rescheduling.
Despite Queens of the Stone Age’s absence, The Struts proceeded with their scheduled opening set, as reported by Setlist.fm.
The cancellation comes amidst the band’s Canadian tour, which kicked off on Monday, April 1, in Calgary. The tour, in support of their 2023 album, “In Times New Roman…”, had been highly anticipated by fans. While the Edmonton show faced unfortunate circumstances, the tour is expected to resume on Wednesday, April 3, in Saskatoon.
