Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Show to Feature Black Sabbath Reunion with Metal Legends

The heavy metal world is preparing for an unforgettable moment as Ozzy Osbourne gears up for his final live performance. The legendary frontman will take the stage for one last time in his hometown of Birmingham, England, joined by a historic reunion of Black Sabbath’s original lineup. Alongside them, some of the biggest names in heavy metal—Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and more—will take part in this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Back to the Beginning – The Final Show

Scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, the event is aptly named Back to the Beginning – The Final Show. For years, Osbourne has expressed his deep desire to return to the stage, despite facing numerous health challenges that led to the postponement and eventual cancellation of his farewell tour. Now, he will finally fulfill that dream, surrounded by close friends, peers, and devoted fans.

Reflecting on this significant farewell, Osbourne stated, “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

Tom Morello, serving as the event’s musical director, has promised an unparalleled experience, saying, “This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.”

A Legendary Lineup

In addition to Ozzy Osbourne and the highly anticipated Black Sabbath reunion, the festival will feature an incredible lineup of metal icons:

  • Metallica
  • Slayer (marking their second confirmed reunion show of 2025)
  • Pantera
  • Gojira
  • Alice in Chains
  • Halestorm
  • Lamb of God
  • Anthrax
  • Mastodon

Each of these bands has a deep-rooted connection to Black Sabbath’s legacy, making their participation in this farewell event even more meaningful.

A Historic Black Sabbath Reunion

To close out the night, Ozzy will first deliver a special solo set before being joined by his legendary Black Sabbath bandmates for a final performance together. This marks the true conclusion of the band’s legacy, bringing their journey full circle in the city where it all began.

Metallica expressed their gratitude for being part of such a significant event, saying, “We are beyond honored and humbled to be invited to perform at Black Sabbath’s final show, back where it all began in Birmingham, England.”

Similarly, Pantera shared their excitement, stating, “We are honored to be part of this! Our love for Black Sabbath is infinite.” Fans are already speculating whether Pantera will include their cover of “Planet Caravan” as a tribute to the pioneers of metal.

A Concert for a Cause

Beyond being a monumental celebration of heavy metal history, Back to the Beginning – The Final Show will also serve a greater purpose. All proceeds from the event will be donated to several charities, including:

  • Cure Parkinson’s
  • Birmingham Children’s Hospital
  • Acorn Children’s Hospice

This ensures that Ozzy’s farewell is not only a defining moment for rock and metal fans but also a force for good.

A Night to Remember

As one of the most influential figures in heavy metal history, Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance is destined to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. With an all-star lineup, a historic Black Sabbath reunion, and a cause that gives back to the community, Back to the Beginning – The Final Show will stand as a defining moment in music history.

For fans of heavy metal, July 5, 2025, will be a date to remember forever. Birmingham will once again be the heart of metal as the Prince of Darkness takes his final bow.

Music Is Facing a Mental Health Crisis

Money is tight while they work long and weird hours, travel incessantly, are isolated from their friends and family at home, and have ample access to drinks and drugs. They write, record, release, and promote, and then repeat the cycle over and over again. And now, more than ever, the industry demands constant content, lest they are forgotten in the ocean of songs hitting Spotify every Friday. But then they get in the van and, especially in Canada, drive absurd distances between low-paying gigs for a tour they likely had to book themselves.
