MATT GROOPIE ON WHAT IT TAKES THESE DAYS

“ROCK N ROLL IS DEAD DAMMIT !!!!!!”

“THE TORONTO LIVE MUSIC SCENE IS OVER FINISHED!!!!”

“THERE WILL BE NO MORE MUSICIANS LEFT IN TORONTO. THEY ARE ALL MOVING TO HAMILTON”!!!!!!!!!

I am friends with Matt Groopie so maybe for his sake, I should not be the one writing this article lol.

It’s so, rare to meet a person so invested, no, so dedicated to SOMETHING, ANYTHING, to the extent that Matt Groopie is invested in Toronto Live Music.
Matt is in many bands 5 at the time of this interview. KING BEES, BLACK DOG BALLROOM, GREEN JELLY, SENORES CALAVERAS, MATT GROOPIE & THE BANDITS. BUT how I know him best is as the Booker for the Sexiest Live Music Vene in Toronto, Cherry Colas Rocks N Rolla at 200 Bathurst.
Matt has a unique perspective as a gigging artist who MAKES MONEY playing shows. Also as a full-time booker of a very busy live music venue that prides itself on being band/artist-friendly.  That means in layman’s terms they pay the bands.
