Magneto Unveils the Sonnet Supreme and Ruby Bass at NAMM 2025

Magneto Guitars has once again raised the bar for craftsmanship and tone at NAMM 2025, unveiling two exceptional new instruments: the Sonnet Supreme, a revamped version of its iconic six-string guitar, and the Ruby Bass, marking the company’s exciting debut into the bass guitar market. These new offerings are set for release in early summer, promising to captivate players with their exquisite designs and exceptional performance.

Sonnet Supreme: A Fresh Take on a Classic Design

The Sonnet Supreme builds upon Magneto’s renowned Strat-style design, incorporating fresh innovations to deliver unparalleled playability and tone. The guitar features a basswood body, paired with a roasted maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard, creating a rich, dark wood aesthetic. The highlight of its design is a figured laurel drop-top, which adds a touch of elegance and distinction to its appearance.

In terms of hardware, the Sonnet Supreme offers significant upgrades that set it apart from traditional S-type guitars. A floating tremolo bridge introduces a modern, dynamic touch, drawing comparisons to high-performance models like Adrian Smith’s signature Jackson and Tom Morello’s Fender signature guitars. The inclusion of staggered locking tuners and a bone nut ensures optimal string vibration, precise tuning stability, and enhanced performance.

Magneto has also revisited the guitar’s electronics to achieve a unique tonal character. The Sonnet Supreme features an HSS pickup configuration, including the newly developed MPMN-1 Mini humbucker and two MPRS 5 single-coil pickups. According to Magneto, these pickups deliver a perfect blend of top-end clarity and creamy fat tones, maintaining sustain and versatility while offering a fresh sonic palette that complements both single-coil and humbucker lovers.

Ruby Bass: Magneto’s First Foray into the World of Bass Guitars

Magneto’s Ruby Bass represents a bold new direction for the brand. As its first bass guitar, the Ruby Bass embodies the same meticulous attention to detail and innovative design that Magneto has applied to its electric guitars for over a decade. While full specifications for the Ruby Bass will be revealed closer to its release, early previews suggest a focus on ergonomic design, smooth playability, and a versatile tonal range that will appeal to bassists across genres.

Availability and Colors

Both the Sonnet Supreme and the Ruby Bass will be available for purchase starting May 2025. The Sonnet Supreme comes in a choice of Brown Sunburst, Amber, and See Thru Red Burst finishes, allowing players to select a look that resonates with their personal style.

With these two remarkable new instruments, Magneto Guitars continues to solidify its reputation as a leading innovator in the world of stringed instruments, offering musicians tools that inspire creativity and elevate performance.
