KRATORNAS Unveils “God of the Tribes” Album Artwork and August 2025 Release Date

KRATORNAS Reveals “God Of The Tribes” Album Artwork and August Release Date
KRATORNAS, the long-running one-man extreme metal project originally hailing from the Philippines and now based in Saskatoon, Canada, has officially unveiled the cover art and release details for the highly anticipated album God of the Tribes. Slated for release on August 20, 2025 via Grathila Records, this full-length marks a significant transformation in KRATORNAS’ sound and artistic direction.
Mastered by legendary producer Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity), God of the Tribes introduces a darker, more atmospheric approach, diverging from the chaotic, hyper-aggressive style that characterized previous releases. In describing this evolution, the project’s sole member, Bruno Zamora, stated:
“This album marks a turning point for KRATORNAS. Not because it tries to be ‘different’ but because it couldn’t have come out any other way. Every part of this release came together naturally. The sound, the pacing, the tension… it wrote itself, shaped by instinct and intention. This album is unlike the usual KRATORNAS, so anyone expecting it to sound like early KRATORNAS will be disappointed.”
The album artwork, created by Zamora himself, visually reflects the thematic depth of the music—channeling apocalyptic visions and ritualistic symbolism. A teaser for the album has also been released, offering a glimpse into this sonic reinvention.
Track Listing for God of the Tribes:
-
Cursed Sky Serpent – 15:00
-
Evil and Plunder – 3:00
-
Ravaged by Hurakaan – 7:00
-
Novena para Guerra – 11:00
The third track, “Ravaged by Hurakaan,” serves as a cornerstone of the new material and has already been featured in upcoming physical releases, including an exclusive 7-inch vinyl demo and a cassette remix.
About the Project:
Formed in 1995, KRATORNAS emerged from the global underground tape-trading scene and quickly became known for its unrelenting fusion of black, death, and grind metal. Over the decades, Zamora has continuously reinvented the project, evolving from early Satanic themes to more abstract and apocalyptic motifs. God of the Tribes represents the latest chapter in this ongoing metamorphosis—an instinct-driven work that builds tension through deliberate pacing and atmospheric density rather than sheer velocity.
Early commentary on the new material has noted its departure from the “superfast brutality” of previous efforts, leaning instead into cinematic build-ups, dissonant textures, and meditative aggression. The result is a more expansive and ritualistic listening experience.
