Inside Dave Navarro and Vanessa DuBasso’s Enchanting Gothic Wedding in Scotland

A Fairytale Brought to Life at Dunskey Estate

In a wedding that felt like stepping into a dream, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, 57, and actress and fashion designer Vanessa DuBasso exchanged vows at the breathtaking Dunskey Estate in Stranraer, Scotland. Their multi-day celebration, held from March 28-30, was a fusion of gothic romance and enchanted elegance.

The couple was instantly captivated by the Edwardian castle surrounded by lush woodlands and sea views. Their vision, brought to life with the expertise of wedding planner Wendy Parker, transformed the estate into a mystical wonderland.

A Gothic-Inspired Rehearsal Dinner

The festivities began with a rehearsal dinner on March 28, setting the tone with a “darkly romantic” ambiance. Deep-colored floral arrangements and black candles adorned the space, creating an intimate and moody atmosphere that reflected the couple’s unique style.

A Celestial Forest Ceremony

The following day, Navarro and DuBasso exchanged handwritten vows in an ethereal forest ceremony. The altar, bathed in the glow of golden candelabra, was framed by an aisle lined with white roses. Chandeliers hanging from the trees added a celestial charm to the setting.

DuBasso embodied a fairytale princess with a Victorian-inspired bridal look, complete with angel wings. Designed by Tina Wong of Grace + Ivory, her dramatic white gown featured a corseted bodice with a pearl-beaded cross emblem and a flowing, floor-length skirt. Styled by Something White Styling, her ensemble exuded a soft, dreamlike elegance.

Navarro contrasted her ethereal presence in a striking all-black suit from Generation Tux, symbolizing their contrasting yet complementary spirits.

As DuBasso made her way down the aisle, a three-piece quartet played Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” adding to the romantic aura of the moment. The ceremony concluded with a stunning fireworks display, illuminating the night sky in celebration.

A Castle Reception and Dungeon Dance Party

Following the heartfelt vows, guests gathered for an exquisite dinner featuring pasta, seafood, and filet mignon. Traditional Scottish desserts were served alongside a Swedish princess cake, customized to match the gothic theme with black cathedral icing and delicate roses.

As the evening progressed, the celebration took an unexpected turn—guests were invited to dance the night away in the castle’s dungeon, an experience that perfectly blended historic charm with the couple’s edgy style.

A Whimsical Final Day

The third and final day of festivities was designed to be a vibrant and joyful experience. Guests participated in activities such as shooting on the castle grounds, engaging with pet owls, enjoying a barbecue in the woods, and gathering around a bonfire on the beach.

“I wanted our last day to overflow with color, an expression of life,” DuBasso shared, reflecting on the celebration’s joyful conclusion.

A Magical Start to Married Life

For Navarro, the wedding was nothing short of extraordinary. “It was truly special and breathtaking,” he said. “It exceeded our expectations.”

As newlyweds, Navarro and DuBasso now plan to embark on a honeymoon exploring Scotland’s historic landscapes. Among Navarro’s personal quests is to search for holy relics, particularly locations rumored to house the Holy Grail—a fascination he has held for years.

Their enchanted wedding was a celebration not only of their love but of a shared dream brought to life in one of the most mystical settings imaginable.

PUNK ROCK TREND TO STAND OUT

Look chic, look punk, look punk rock! If you want to dress like a real punk this 2018 in an adult way, then I highly recommend taking a look through this awesome compilation of refreshed punk rock street style looks. This year comes with some great vibes and details. We see oversized leather jackets, slouchy blazers, printed shirts, plaid skirts, and dresses, ripped jeans, etc. Personally, I like the way many ladies have translated this trend in a modern way, by adding leather pants, vintage tees, sexy stilettos, statement boots by Dr. Martens, oversized blazers, etc. Punk is officially back but in a more voguish look and max vengeance. Of course, you can go for fishnets, spikes, studs, dyed hair, and patches, but be sure to look like 18 years old girl. But there is an easy way to look punk, yet stylish. I’ve rounded some great looks for your one and only inspiration. Hope you will enjoy this compilation as much as I do.
