Iconic ’90s Band Sublime Releases First New Song in Nearly 30 Years
Sublime, a band that resonates deeply with those in their 40s, has made a triumphant return with their first new song in nearly three decades.
Sublime, led by Bradley Nowell, captivated fans in the mid-to-late ’90s with their unique blend of rock, ska, rap, and reggae. Tragically, as the band was gaining momentum, Nowell passed away from a heroin overdose in 1996. Despite this, Sublime’s music continued to thrive, and various iterations of the band kept touring, though no new music was released—until now.
Jakob Nowell, Bradley’s son, has recently taken the helm as the band’s lead singer. Sublime has just unveiled “Feel Like That,” a track that intriguingly incorporates original vocals from Bradley Nowell alongside Jakob’s contributions. Scott Woodruff of the reggae band Stick Figure also features on the track, having pieced it together from a 1996 jam session recording.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jakob Nowell shared, “My dad has a verse, then I have a verse, and Stick closes out the song. It’s a beautiful thing.”
“Feel Like That” embodies the classic vibe that made Sublime a staple in the ’90s. Experience the new song below:
