Hyperspace Metal Fest VI Set to Ignite Vancouver with Melodic and Power Metal Might

Hyperspace Metal Festival VI Returns to Vancouver, April 10–12, 2025

Vancouver’s beloved melodic and power metal gathering, Hyperspace Metal Festival, is back for its sixth edition. Taking place across The Cobalt (April 10–11) and The Rickshaw Theatre (April 12), this annual celebration of all things heavy features a fierce lineup of international headliners, returning fan favorites, and debut performances. With three nights of unrelenting energy and diverse styles, HMF VI promises to deliver one of its most dynamic lineups yet.

Thursday, April 10 – The Cobalt: Opening Night

The festival kicks off with a galactic bang as Glyph, a heavy metal band from the Pacific Northwest, opens the show. More than musicians, Glyph present themselves as interstellar mercenaries on a mission from a dying world—captured in the lore of their album Honor, Power, Glory. Their immersive universe-building and theatrical performance style set the tone for an unforgettable weekend.

Tower Hill, hailing from Edmonton, follows with their classic heavy metal sound. With nods to titans like Running Wild, Riot, Judas Priest, and Helloween, their set promises nostalgic riffs and powerful sing-along choruses drawn from the golden age of metal.

Joining them are Red Cain, Calgary’s genre-fusing power-prog storytellers. With Eastern European influences and conceptual albums like NÄE’BLISS, Red Cain crafts music rich with lore, melodic hooks, and dark atmospheres.

Serpent Rider and Crüzer round out Thursday’s lineup, bringing a raw and energetic close to the first night with their traditional and speed metal influences.

Friday, April 11 – The Cobalt: A Night of Power and Prog

Friday marks a huge return with Greyhawk stepping in to headline. The Seattle-based traditional metal band, now fronted by vocalist Anthony Corso, are back at Hyperspace for a third time. Their 2024 album Thunderheart has made waves across the metal world and is expected to shine live in what fans anticipate will be their best HMF performance yet.

A festival highlight is the live debut of Lunar, a progressive metal project from California. Founded by Alex Bosson and the late Ryan Erwin, Lunar’s performance will showcase their latest work, Tempora Mutantur, featuring members from Vis Mystica and Helion Prime, and guest contributions from notable prog artists.

Solarus, Tylor Dory Trio, and The Astral Prophets also grace the Friday lineup. Solarus brings power and precision, while Tylor Dory Trio makes a much-anticipated return to the stage after a nearly seven-year hiatus. The Astral Prophets, a psychedelic metal act from Calgary, make their festival debut with material from their 2023 EP Anywhere But Here.

Saturday, April 12 – The Rickshaw Theatre: The Grand Finale

The final night takes place at the iconic Rickshaw Theatre, headlined by Sweden’s Enforcer. With their sixth studio album Nostalgia (2023, Nuclear Blast), the band returns to their speed metal roots, merging intense riffing with arena-sized choruses. Known for high-octane live shows, Enforcer’s closing performance is expected to be a triumphant climax to the festival.

Sharing the stage are Psychostick, the kings of comedy metal. With cult classics like “Beer!”, “Boobs”, and “Obey the Beard!”, their set will offer a lighter yet mosh-worthy atmosphere, balancing humor with heavy riffage.

Toronto’s Crimson Shadows also return with tales of fantasy and battle wrapped in blistering power-death metal. After a five-year hiatus, their renewed presence promises brutality, melody, and technical precision honed over a nearly two-decade career.

AfterTime and Luminator will provide strong support, closing the festival with a blend of cinematic metal and melodic might.
