Halifax Grunge Trio SigSour Unveils New Single “And It Goes” Ahead of Debut Album Apathetic Generation

From an intimate solo project to a full-fledged powerhouse trio, Halifax-based SigSour has carved a niche in the Canadian rock scene with their raw, high-energy performances. Fronted by Evan Jodrey (guitar/vocals) and fortified by Trey Gabriel (bass/vocals) and Quenny Stevens (drums), the band has gained a reputation for electrifying crowds and delivering music that balances grunge nostalgia with modern intensity.
Following the success of their debut EP Static and live album SigSour Live at Radstorm in 2024, the band is gearing up to release their first full-length studio album, Apathetic Generation. Produced and mixed by Don Levandier of The Motorleague, the album promises a dynamic range of sound and emotion, capturing the essence of SigSour’s evolving identity.
“This album is the break we needed to showcase all of what we are and can do,” shares Jodrey. “Each song tells a different story and carries its own vibe, so we hope there’s at least one track that someone can connect with—whether it’s to relate, to headbang, or both. We’re incredibly excited for both longtime fans and new listeners to experience what we’ve created.”
As a preview of what’s to come, SigSour has released “And It Goes,” the first song recorded for the album. Infused with gritty guitars, pounding drums, and haunting melodies, the track delves into themes of addiction and personal turmoil. Jodrey elaborates on its meaning:
“The lyrics portray a life controlled by addiction, an endless cycle of pain and confusion. The chorus offers a moment of catharsis—an attempt to find clarity amid the struggle.”
Known for their relentless energy and ability to blend punk, metal, and grunge influences seamlessly, SigSour has drawn comparisons to legendary acts like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, and Alice in Chains. With Apathetic Generation on the horizon, the trio continues to solidify their place as one of the most compelling rock bands emerging from Canada’s Maritimes.
Stay tuned for more updates as the album’s release date approaches.
