Gob to Rock Peterborough Musicfest This Summer

Canadian punk rock veterans Gob are making their way to Peterborough this summer for a much-anticipated performance at the 2025 edition of Peterborough Musicfest. The band, best known for their dynamic sound and anthemic hits from the late ’90s and early 2000s, will perform on Wednesday, July 17, at Del Crary Park’s scenic outdoor venue.

Gob rose to prominence in the Canadian music scene with a series of energetic albums that combined catchy melodies, driving guitar riffs, and angsty lyrics. Their breakthrough came with albums such as How Far Shallow Takes You (1998) and The World According to Gob (2001), which featured fan-favorite tracks like “I Hear You Calling” and “Soda.” Over the years, Gob has remained a staple in the punk rock genre, known for their infectious energy on stage and loyal fanbase.

Peterborough Musicfest, a longstanding summer tradition, continues to deliver high-caliber performances free of charge, celebrating both established artists and emerging talent. Gob’s appearance is expected to draw a large crowd, uniting long-time punk rock enthusiasts with a new generation of listeners.

With a career spanning over two decades, Gob has built a reputation for their electric live shows, which blend nostalgia with the raw power of classic punk. Their set at Musicfest promises to be a highlight of the season, showcasing the band’s enduring appeal and musical evolution.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good spot for the concert. The event is family-friendly and held outdoors, offering a perfect opportunity to enjoy live music under the summer sky by Little Lake.
