The Biggest Trend Among Celebrities at Coachella? Wearing (Basically) Nothing

Near-nakedness is the new choker.

Last 2017 year’s Coachella ushered in a whole new era for “street style” trends. No longer were festival-goers all but required to accessorize with a flower crown at best or a culturally appropriative piece of jewelry at worst; in 2016, chokers became the event’s mainstay, and there they remained until Kendall Jenner (of all people) proclaimed them dead in January. With the choker now being The Number One Faux Pas, what would replace it?

We don’t exactly have a single clear-cut answer for you. But we can say with some certainly that many celebrities went in the opposite direction of a sartorial trend — which is to say, nothing. Many famouses wore (basically) nothing.

And you know what? This is the most goddamn practical Coachella trend we’ve seen in recent years. Flower crowns are tacky (and can be peppered with thorns, which is, you know, dangerous), and chokers can make the wearer feel like they’re experiencing a moderate case of asphyxiation. Chill! By omitting clothes altogether, you’re just dressing appropriately for the weather. It’s going to be 94 degrees in Indio, Calif. on Monday. That’s very hot. These people are onto something.

Kylie Jenner and her highlighter hair wore this nude-colored backless mini dress, which, if you squint, just looks like skin.

…while her fellow Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk wore a bralette with those butt-slash jeans. You know the jeans.

Hailey Baldwin also wore a bedazzled bra as a shirt.

Blogger Danielle Bernstein wore this Hardware London hyper-cropped T-shirt. (What purpose does that even serve? Unclear.)

At the much-documented Revolve house, Shay Mitchell didn’t wear anything at all up top.

And then there was Kendall Jenner, who, ahead of the Travis Scott show, changed into a very prominent thong beneath a black sheer shirt. Baldwin documented it on her Instagram Story (left), which has since been deleted.

PUNK ROCK TREND TO STAND OUT

Look chic, look punk, look punk rock! If you want to dress like a real punk this 2018 in an adult way, then I highly recommend taking a look through this awesome compilation of refreshed punk rock street style looks. This year comes with some great vibes and details. We see oversized leather jackets, slouchy blazers, printed shirts, plaid skirts, and dresses, ripped jeans, etc. Personally, I like the way many ladies have translated this trend in a modern way, by adding leather pants, vintage tees, sexy stilettos, statement boots by Dr. Martens, oversized blazers, etc. Punk is officially back but in a more voguish look and max vengeance. Of course, you can go for fishnets, spikes, studs, dyed hair, and patches, but be sure to look like 18 years old girl. But there is an easy way to look punk, yet stylish. I’ve rounded some great looks for your one and only inspiration. Hope you will enjoy this compilation as much as I do.
