Melissa Courvoisier is the lead singer of Toronto indie-band Ida Benna. Blessed with a cinnamon heart and a uniquely throwback folksy voice, Melissa is also a skilled songwriter and lyricist. Her compositions can sway effortlessly from swingy pop hooks to deeply emotional rainy day melodies. Supremely positive yet calmly introspective by nature, Melissa and her well-crafted lyrics have explored a wide range of themes both personal and imaginative, covering everything from sentimental affectionate relationships, to defiant steps towards long-overdue empowerment, and occasionally for fun, darker and somewhat twisted moments of self-realization.
