Paul Cafcae CD Release Party with Special Guests
February 8 /7:00 pm 10:00 pm
An exciting and very talented lineup of local musicians to mark Paul’s debut CD release ‘Sophisticated’.
ON THE BILL:
–==Paul Cafcae & Band ==–
An independent Soviet-born Canadian songwriter, with his new CD ‘Sophisticated’ Paul Cafcae offers an authentic, and intimate musical experience not confined by genre limitations and boundaries. Backed by very talented Toronto musicians Cameron Bond, Justin McHugh and Brian Heyes.
== Jason James == born in Toronto raised in Brampton. Having shared the stage with bands such as My Darkest Days, Die Mannequin and Bleeker, his solo career began in 2012, with the release of his self-titled debut EP in 2014. Jason’s music can be described as alternative rock, even though it’s acoustically driven.
== Lowfills == a four-piece from Toronto. Some of our songs are fast and rocking. Some of our songs are slow and haunted. Some songs float and shimmer, some get down and groove, and some stagger around like a drunken carny. All of our songs feature the soaring, sizzling, slinky sounds of Joe Burke’s lapsteel. Laura Gillis writes most of the songs, and she also sings and plays a big, beautiful Gretsch guitar. Phil Marvy plays a mean mean bass, while noted sludge titan, freelance fermentation consultant, and unrepentant criminal Will Bustin plays drums. Usually we play in bars, but sometimes we play in laundromats or bookstores, on public transit, or at house parties, street parties or festivals.
== Mr. Alison ==
Nineteenth century rock and roll. Songs of hope and despair, victory and calamity, tenderness and terror delivered in a style often acerbic or ridiculous, conjuring images of bleak nostalgia, doubtful sentimentality and howling catharsis.
