Sparked from a chance meeting and an instant connection, Ocie Elliott is Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy from Victoria BC. Their intriguing blend of indie-folk is at once hauntingly familiar and yet startlingly unique. Honeyed vocals weave a lyrical melody atop of stripped back acoustic instrumentals; the aural equivalent of the first summer stars splashed across indigo painted skies. In February 2019, Ocie Elliott released their first album We Fall In to critical acclaim. Recorded in a cozy cottage in the outskirts of Maple Ridge, BC, We Fall In is an intimate collection of gentle musings on love and connection; nature and joy. Inspired by the wild west coast of Canada and influenced by such artists as Gillian Welch, Simon & Garfunkel and Angus and Julia Stone, Ocie Elliott are indeed a rare find. The last 18 months has seen the duo tour Europe, Canada and the western United States and opened shows for the likes of Mason Jennings, Sons of the East, Roo Panes, Luca Fogale, Joshua Hyslop and Current Swell.
In 2018, Havelin caught the attention of multi-JUNO award-winning producer Gavin Brown. The two immediately began working on a follow up to Alright, Alright, Okay, a project that has captured the exciting growth and maturation of Havelin’s style and sound. The first single, “The Further I Go”, will be released on Brown’s label Inside Pocket, via Warner Music Canada, on February 1st, 2019.
