// John Guliak
John Guliak is a Canadian musician who has been writing and performing original material across Canada and in Europe for more than 40 years. John’s music contrasts the isolation of his prairie upbringing with his later experiences in the urban landscapes of Glasgow, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto. The songs that result from this perspective have been compared to those of other uniquely Canadian voices such as Gordon Lightfoot and Leonard Cohen. His whiskey and cigarettes baritone, described in Nerve Magazine as, “one of those character voices that should almost be trademarked,” has placed him in the company of such singers as Merle Haggard, The Handsome Family’s Brent Sparks and Rufus Wainwright and his live performances have been noted for their honesty and intensity. John will be supported at his Burdock performance by Toronto musician David Ronald DeLeary.

// Jack Marks
Few contemporary writers and balladeers have mastered the art of storytelling through song like Jack Marks. Since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album, Two Of Everything, 2009, Jack has been a mainstay on the Toronto folk music scene, toured Canada many times and made repeat trips to the US and Europe. Known as a “songwriter’s songwriter”, his often-covered works have been featured in film and radio soundtracks and recorded and or performed by acts such as Belle Starr, Jadea Kelly, Corin Raymond, Devin Cuddy, and Ferraro. Currently, Jack is in the process of completing his 5th studio album which is expected to be released in Fall of 2019.
