The Hillbirds are a Canadian Indie/folk/pop band from Barrie, ON. The Band was formed in October 2018 by Singer/Songwriter Nicole Duquette, Nick Duquette, Jacob Richards, and Dave Rakusin. After performing their first show at The Horseshoe Tavern in January, the Hillbirds are ready to bring their unique sound, meaningful lyrics and catchy brass licks to venues all over Ontario. The Hillbirds are a one of a kind band to see.
Carmen Toth is a Toronto singer-songwriter with an alternative-pop sound reminiscent of the 80s and 90s. Her unique childlike voice and relatable lyrics have drawn comparisons to Stevie Nicks, Cyndi Lauper and Kate Bush. She plays acoustic guitar and keyboard, and often uses a looper for solo shows. Toth is currently promoting her most recent EP ‘Safety Net,’ (released in 2018) produced by JUNO award-winner Derek Downham.She has also released a holiday single in 2017 called “This Christmas I’m Giving You Love,” an EP titled ‘Social Potion’ (as her former duo ‘Social Potion’) in 2011 and her debut solo EP ‘Potional’ in 2004. Toth arrived on the Toronto music scene at an open mic in 2002. Her music has had airplay on independent radio and online outlets around the world and she has also done many live-to-air interviews and podcasts. She has played many legendary Toronto venues including The Horseshoe Tavern, The Hideout and The Cameron House, and festivals such as NXNE, Mill Street Lights Out, International Pop Overthrow and Music City North’s Soundtrack Of The City.She recently played VIA Rail’s national ‘Artists on Board’ program in August-September 2018, travelling to Montreal and Halifax for her first ever east coast tour.
