Detroit Movement Festival 2025 Lineup Announced: Charlotte de Witte, Carl Craig, and More Set to Perform

Movement Festival 2025: A Celebration of Techno’s Legacy
The Movement Festival, Detroit’s premier electronic music event, is set to return to Hart Plaza over Memorial Day weekend, from May 24 to May 26, 2025. Known as one of the world’s most influential electronic music festivals, Movement continues to honor Detroit’s rich techno legacy while showcasing cutting-edge artists from around the globe. This year’s lineup promises an electrifying experience, featuring over 115 artists, from internationally acclaimed DJs to homegrown talent.
A Stellar Lineup of Global and Local Talent
Belgian DJ and producer Charlotte de Witte is set to return as a headliner for her second time, following her groundbreaking 2023 performance as the festival’s first female headliner. De Witte expressed her excitement in a statement:
“I’m beyond excited to return to the main stage of Detroit Movement Festival. The city and its music have inspired me so much throughout my life and career. I can’t wait to share some unforgettable moments with you all on the dance floor.”
Joining her on the lineup are industry heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Chicago’s John Summit, and legendary Detroit figures Carl Craig and Moodymann, who will perform a special back-to-back set. Fans can also expect high-energy performances from influential acts like Nina Kraviz, Jamie xx, and Seth Troxler.
The festival will feature a diverse selection of performers spanning various subgenres of electronic music. Detroit icons such as Stacey Pullen, Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, and Jon Dixon will share the stage with emerging talents like HiTech, Huey Mnemonic, and Augustus Williams. International acts include Dutch DJ Mau P, Russian techno powerhouse Nina Kraviz, British rapper Skepta, and a special back-to-back set from drum and bass pioneers Goldie and Photek.
A Legacy of Techno on the Riverfront
Movement Festival has been a cornerstone of Detroit’s music culture since its inception as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000. It has been organized under the Movement banner by Paxahau since 2006. As the festival marks its 25th anniversary, it continues to celebrate the city’s deep-rooted influence on global electronic music.
The event will span six stages, each featuring carefully curated performances to ensure a dynamic and immersive experience for attendees. A daily schedule breakdown will be released later this month, providing more details on set times and stage locations.
