Montreal’s Deadwood Unleashes Ferocious New Single “Heretic” and Confirms U.S. Tour Dates

Fresh off their explosive Japan tour, Montreal deathcore outfit Deadwood has announced a string of U.S. tour dates set for July 2025, including a special performance at the highly anticipated Inkcarceration Festival in Mansfield, Ohio.

The band, consisting of Fred Element (guitar), Martin Demontigny (vocals), Charles-Etienne Lafrance (drums), and Stephane Filion (lead guitar), is quickly building international recognition for their punishing sound and intense live shows. Their return to North American stages will include the following dates:

Following their successful Japanese run with Humanity’s Last Breath and DVRK, Deadwood is preparing to unleash even more chaos on their upcoming EP Rituals of A Dying Light. The first single from the record, “Heretic,” has just been released, accompanied by a chilling music video that visually captures the song’s violent sonic energy.

“This is the first song we’ve written for the next EP and one of the ones we’re most proud of,” the band stated. “It’s fast, heavy, and technical. We’re known for delivering a very intense show, with tight, percussive guitar work and horror movie atmospheres created through samples between songs. ‘Heretic’ represents our darkest material yet.”

Formed in 2020, Deadwood has built a name for themselves by merging death metal brutality with hardcore energy, inspired by horror lore and centuries-old myths. Their sound has been described as a devastating blend of precision, aggression, and eerie ambiance—perfect for fans of Whitechapel, Despised Icon, and Meshuggah.
